The Progressive Lens sunglasses I ordered from Glasses USA arrived broken. One lens was completely out of the frame, rendering them unwearable.
When I called to report this problem, I was told to follow the online procedure, to obtain a return authorization. I indicated (at the time) that I still wanted a pair of glasses, not a refund. The woman I spoke with, with a thick accent, seemed to state that if I had bought a more expensive frame, I would not have had this problem. This was ludicrous, in general and additionally, due to the fact that I have a very wide face, there doesnt appear to be a whole lot of selection that would fit well.
I received no subsequent authorization, rather, an email indicating that I hadnt returned the glasses and needed to do so, or I wouldnt not be able to do so for a refund or store credit. I called again, and the representative was very responsive and said he would further my cause to the right department. I requested the r.a. and an itemized receipt, because I had not received a receipt and I need to submit one for my insurance reimbursement.
I received an email with an attached R.A., but no receipt. Before I mailed them back, I decided to look through the one good lens, still mounted in the frames. It was like looking through a Coke bottle. I dug out my prescription from my eye doctor, and noticed that the prescription indicated on the id card, provided with the glasses, was incorrect.
I called customer service, and the rep. I spoke to told me to mail the glasses back and send the Service dept. an email with a photo of my prescription. Pardon my French, but from the start, the individual I spoke to was kind of pissy and I made a particular effort not to sound so, myself.
I was just trying to find out what the heck to do. Another email to the customer service dept. and I was responded with all kinds of apologies and assurance that upon receipt of the returned glasses, my original credit card would be refunded for the full amount. Using the finally received r.a.
postage, I returned the defective glasses.
It's been a couple of weeks and I have received no confirmation of return receipt nor a refund! This has been the worst online purchase experience I have ever had!
